Well, I will tell you what. The idea is from being fed up with aggressive sales people selling their wares and being pushy with their services. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to be in this environment.
Wouldn’t it be nice to let your guard down and not hav
e to worry about making excuses of why can’ t buy real estate, insurance, etc?
The idea behind this is really “no b.s.” Let’s get to know people and have fun together. We will find our common bonds as we play and socialize. The business will follow in its natural pattern. Who do you hire?
If you like someone, you naturally are curious of what they do for a living, right? Business will happen. Let’s just save it for dessert, not shoving in our face as we walk in the door.
If people are going to sell to me throughout the event, I will spend my time
hiding, trying to avoid the predators. Most networking events fall into this category. When I hire someone, I need to be able to work with them. Liking them is also helpful. The people who push their services on me, I don’t care to be around. We have enough of pushy people if you network at all.
Fun people and an interactive structured experience.

At each event there may or may not be “Pitch Police” monitoring for people proactively selling their services, which is a no-no. The idea is that you are interesting enough, that later people wonder what you do.
Do bring business cards, but save them for the latter part of the event and wait for someone to ask for it. Be green. If they want it, they will ask for your card.
