I was asked to coordinate Speaker’s Corner inspired by Hyde Park. Conferences can be passive and one big information dump on your head. Here is a fun idea to get people interactive, whether you are the speaker or the audience. It makes the halls feel like something is going on. Of course, this may only work for particular groups who enjoy the attention. The accountants of libraries may not be hip to this idea.
The National Speakers Association Convention will host this activity in the foyer between the sessions. The description follows below. It was marketed through tweets, facebook updates, linkedin and youtube.
But you weren’t asked to be on the main stage, no worries. That’s why we have Speaker’s Corner This is new this year. You have two minutes to spout off. This is available to all attendees.
Talk about anything, for example:
Rave about NSA
Future of adoptions in China
Technology in our lives
PC versus Mac
Dog people vs cat people
Perform a Michael Jackson Revue
Define a term: vanityurl
Take this opportunity to be spontaneous
and get visibility or share advice with your NSA community.
Go for it during the breaks between general sessions, concurrent sessions and after lunch. Slots are limited. If you want a guaranteed slot, email Jolene Jang @ Jo@themeetingmaximizer.com, or be ready to jump in. View flyer.

See you on streets of NSA.
Great meeting on Friday Jolene – great speakers, insightful information sharing and fantastic networking with some amazing professionals. Thanks for inviting me!
