Virgin Airlines – Engaging all the senses
At meetings, we need to do as much as we can to communicate with our audiences. Virgin Airlines does a fine job of making a flight (dull meeting) very exciting. From the upscale, hip lounge scene ticket counter with real music (Virgin Records) with young, fashionable ticket agents dressed in black to the actual flight. They are consistent. Take a look at our experience. I wanted a longer flight, so I could have an extended experience.
The look of the plane is white, sleek and feels open. Yes, there is more leg room, but the light color also feels spacious. It was new and different. The flight attendants seemed to be more friendly than usual.
The personal LCD in the seat was not just a screen. It was an interactive communication device that was on even while we were on the ground. Inside the armrest was a secret gadget. Here it is, the entertainment and communication sword.
Wow, we can instant message each other for free. Can you imagine if you are going a group trip like a cruise and met a bunch of people, but you got a head start by chatting first. The whole newness and technology integration was very exciting.
My aunts, uncles, parents and cousins, we were all communicating with our headrest computers. Instead of having to yell or walk up to talk on the plane to finalize plans, we can simply instant message without disrupting others.
The typically boring safety directions was artsy and interesting to watch. Yes, it is the same old information, but delivered differently. Here is a taste of it this video.
Virgin Airlines did so many things right. I look forward to my next trip with them. When think about your meetings, think about all the senses make sure your passengers are taken care of.
